Patrick Cannon | Chairman

Patrick CannonPat is an ex-Royal Navy veteran and has lived in Caterham since 2003, when he returned from 20 years in Australia and New Zealand.

His background is in electrical engineering, which has allowed him to work on many exciting projects around the world, including building a hospital in New Zealand, a gold mine in Borneo and an LNG installation in Australia.

After taking early retirement as a Sales Director in 2014, Pat has devoted himself to pursuing his interests within the public sector and community in East Surrey.

He was a District Councillor on Tandridge Council for 12 years and stepped down after completing a year as Chairman of the Council. He is passionate about the care of the vulnerable and is concerned that financial support for community services has been eroded.

Pat took on the chairmanship of East Surrey Dial a Ride in 2020 following the death of John Orrick. He feels that ESDAR is a vital part of the community in Caterham and beyond, and is working with fellow Trustees to keep and maintain ESDAR for the future.
