I have lived in South Godstone for 21 years, my husband and I moving here after deciding to downsize, as our family had grown up. We have been so happy here, that we moved my mother to Caterham to be close to us, where she found new friends and neighbours. One of my daughters has also lived in Caterham with her husband and children, for over 25 years.
My husband, who sadly died in 2019, became a Trustee for ESDAR in 2006. In 2016 I was asked to support the board and help in other capacities, which I was happy to do. I was invited to become a Trustee in 2020.
I worked for the NHS for over 35 years in various admin and management roles, for both Community and Mental Health Trusts. During this time, one of my roles was to manage a medical equipment home loan service, which made me aware of how difficult daily life could be for people with disabilities, especially with transport.
I have tremendous respect and admiration for the service and have seen first-hand what a benefit it has been to our members. I will continue to help ESDAR and ensure that this valuable service continues to thrive and serve our community.
